1. The financial market is dead in US right now. Seriously. I can guarantee you that even the top schools graduates like Columbia and Michigan will have a hard time getting an offer now. If you are doing a 2nd-3rd tier MSF program and dreaming to get a job in US after you graduate then please stop dreaming. It is not entirely impossible, but the chance is extremely low, close to 0%. Considering the cost and the time, it is certainly not an investment I would recommend you to take. Even you just want to go back to China after you graduate, most of the employers may not even heard of your school, not to mention the msf program. 2. According to your background, you may be only able to settle down with a 2nd-3rd tier MSF if you want to apply right now. Why bother to do so if you can go for a top MBA programs after a few years of working? You can benefit much more from a top MBA program compared to a MSF program. 3. Companies don't value MSF programs too much in US. They would rather hire an undergrad/MBA for a general position and a MFE for a technical position.  lease don't be surprised to find out the truth you are worse than an undergrad in some companies'eyes after you graduate. 4. You are too young to know what you want to do in the future. You will have a much better idea what you really want after a few years of working. You may realize finance field is not for you later. 5. GPA is not as important as work experience in MBA application. |
