as作比较时的省略问题，两道OG题的困惑

看了好久了实在是搞不明白为什么第一题里的they did不能省略，而第二题里的as (it did)in its return of...里的it did可以省略，ron说能省略的部分必须是exact the same words，但是第一题如果C选项是as (they never evolved) in most other developed countries ,也可以说的通啊

我觉得第一问不能省略they did的主要原因应该是，如果省略了会改变句子的意思，变成：LAs在美国和在世界上其他国家一样没有进化过，但是明显原意是想表达在其他国家进化过，在美国没有。
