赫赫，谢谢你的解答。我发了帖才想想起，focus本身是一个单词，我晕了，看见后缀的s就认为是复数形式的了。够晕....

focus 没有问题,和vary并列做谓语,BUT 是连词

Methods of building bridges vary but focus on preventing the planks from cracking and to keep them at their optimum state of stability.

我的解析：主语：methods，谓语：vary but focus on->focus, 继续看，发现：focus on preventing…and keeping…这里的to keep 也有问题，最后答案是C,可是focus怎么解释。

本人学艺不精，语法部分都是备T过程中重新来过的，8天后考试，不管最后成绩如何，感觉挺有收获的.(还没开考，给自己先铺垫好理由，sigh.....，这次第，怎一个愁字了得呀。）
