【求助】numbers of后面可以接可数名词复数吗？

C为什么错了呢？有人解析说是因为numbers of后面不可以接可数名词复数。
以前学的语法是说a number of和numbers of 用法一样，后面都接可数名词复数，然后网上找了找电子词典也说是接可数名词复数。我记得amount of后面是接不可数的。
所以想问问大家，这个到底是什么原因？
