Many kitchens today are equipped with high-speed electrical gadgets, such as blenders and food processors, which are able to inflict as serious injuries as those caused by an industrial wood-planing machine.

(A) which are able to inflict as serious injuries as those
(B) which can inflict serious injuries such as those
(C) inflicting injuries as serious as that having been
(D) capable to inflict injuries as serious as that
(E) capable of inflicting injuries as serious as those

除了D capable to; C that 应为those 可以排除; B such as 举例不正确。
og 答案没有指出 A/B 的which 有修饰问题。 A的OG解释: the term able suggest agency, which kitchen gadgets do not have. 不明白,是说A的able to 表示kitchen 的intention 吗?

A - ...gadgets, <举例>, which are able to ... 这里的which不能跳过<such as...>, 所以修饰的是processors
E - ...gadgets, <such as...>, capable of inflicting 这里的capable of doing 修饰的是gadgets,语意正确

The Environmental Protection Agency frequently puts mandatory controls on toxic substances that present as little risk as one in a million chances to cause cancer.
(A) as little risk as one in a million chances to cause
(B) as little risk as one chance in a million of causing
(C) as little risk as one chance in a million that it will cause
(D) a risk as little as one chance in a million for causing
(E) a risk as little as one chance in a million for it to cause

①little、few、 many、much这几种形容词的时候: as little risk as (right)     as little a risk as (wrong)      a risk as little as(wrong)
②普通形容词:①可数名词 as beautiful a gift as(right)    as beautiful gifts as (wrong) 应该改为 gifts as beautiful as (right)
                        ②不可数名词同样,只能是 water as cold as...

About 5 million acres in the United States have been invaded by leafy spurge, a herbaceous plant from Eurasia, with milky sap, that gives mouth sores to cattle and displaces grasses and other cattle food, rendering rangeland worthless.

og后面还有半句说as serious injuries as  non-idiomatic,有个关于as的总结帖里说Ron觉得as...as结构本来就多用于形容词serious而非名词injuries。
曼哈顿上似乎有讨论过can, be able to, be capable of的区别不过我没查到。。。望指点
