Hello Frank,
I got lots of your personal help on CD. Thank you so much. And now I have a question that particularly needs your professional advice again.
I've been working in Operations department in IT and Telecom industries for many years. By operations, I mean managing Lead (Order) to Cash cycle, process improvement etc. But during end-to-end process management, it also involves lots of work related with supply chain like developing a new supplier in a strategic project or collaborate with supply chain to push revenue maximization. So I'm really confused which MBA specialty I belong to.
On US news ranking, both 2 specialties look relavant to my background as below. Each is followed by a ranking with different schools. So which specialty/ranking shall I refer to? By the way, I will probably still look for a job in IT/Telecom industries after MBA graducation.
1) Production / Operations
Production and operations management involves lessons in supply chain management, quality control and manufacturing. Graduates may become managers or consultants. These are the top business schools for production/operations MBAs.
2) Supply Chain / Logistics
Supply chain management involves logistics, purchasing and distribution. Supply chain/logistics MBA graduates may work in sectors such as food production and health care. These are the top business schools for supply chain/logistics.
I'm looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks in advance!
