这得根据句意来判断了，说说我的思路吧，请注意in turn这一词，当使用In turn的时候，肯定是在说A对B做了什么，in turn，B又做了什么，从这个角度出发，lying produces reaction，那么接下来过来，create responses的就应当是reactions。

这里的that我认为指代的是emotional reactions in an individual这整个短语。

E还有个小问题就是in turn作为creates的修饰语应当尽量离得近些

判断that/which的指代对象时，需要关注整个context
