关于“，+v-ing”的“apply to subject of the preceding clause”

this sort of modifier should actually satisfy TWO requirements:
1) it should apply most nearly to the subject of the preceding clause (as you've said); and, even more importantly,
2) it should have one of the following RELATIONSHIPS to that clause:
* immediate consequence
* simultaneous, but lower-priority, action

就是说一个“，+v-ing”结构成立要满足：
（1）修饰邻近句子（2）与句子主语有逻辑关系
（3）满足以下两个条件之一
          *表示由于第一个动作自发地引起下一个动作，必然的结果
          *表示同时发生但是是低一级的动作

我的问题是在逻辑主语是否合理上有疑问（就是apply to the subject），比如下面这三个的逻辑主语：
1）Neuroscientists have amassed a wealth of knowledge over the past twenty years about the brain and its development from birth to adulthood, now drawing solid conclusions about how the human brain grows and how babies acquire language. 这是一个OG上的错误句子，不但表示同时发生不合理，而且也不能表示因主句动作导致的一个必然动作，所以不对。
2） Even tiny islets can be the basis for claims to the fisheries and oil fields of large sea areas under provisions of the new maritime code, already stimulating international disputes over uninhabited islands.这里逻辑主语千行里说是错误的，我总感觉可以是伴随结果？
3）Five fledgling sea eagles left their nests in western Scotland this summer, bringing to 34 the number of wild birds successfully raised transplants from Norway began in 1975.
OG12里的正确句子，为什么这个的逻辑主语正确，但2）里就不对呢？

正确：I am a Harvard student, entering my senior year.  
显然，"entering my senior year"说的是我，或者修饰"I am a Harvard student"这件事情
因为主系表结构中前面的主句中不是一个事件或者是一个动作，而只是阐明了主语的一种属性：在这种情况下需要判断的是这个v-ing结构是否合理的阐明了前面句子成分的一种属性、状态、用途、目的等等等。（动作也是一种状态，比如我正在吃饭，和我现在是学生一样都是表明了我的一个状态，把状态理解为一个广义上的action, 会比较好理解。


看来主系表结构后可以加",v-ing"表同时发生（此时要求逻辑主语要可以发出ing里的动作），但是不能表结果，因为主系表结构不表示一个动作，就没有办法直接的、必然的导致",v-ing"结构里的动作。
然后这句话：Even tiny islets can be the basis for claims to the fisheries and oil fields of large sea areas under provisions of the new maritime code, already stimulating international disputes over uninhabited islands.首先它是主系表，合理的话只有表同时发生着一种情况，但这也就要求islet要作为stimulate的逻辑主语，所以不能表同时发生。再者，感觉这句话里的can表示了可能性，有区别于上面举例的I am a Harvard student, entering my senior year.  主系表，貌似之前也没有见到过表示可能性的句子还用了",v-ing"结构，在此也算是对2）句不合理的一个理由吧。

我觉得这是系动词和实意动词的区别，主系表结构不存在伴随，ving就是用来说明主语的，所以你再看一下2.3两个句子，都是因为系动词造成主语而不是行为造成伴随的结果，不知道你觉得对不对。

这里的apply to规则实质有两种情况：第一种是表同时发生，也就是主语可以发出这个动作并且ing结构里的动作是从属地位，第二种是表示由于主语在前面句子中的动作导致的立即、自动、必然的动作，也就是表结果。这两种都可以apply to the subject，但是2）这个句子里没有同时发生的意思并且主语不能发出stimulating的动作，第一种不成立，又由于前面一句话用了被动语态没有动作去导致后面ing的内容，表结果也说不通，第二种不成立，所以这里",+v-ing"结构不成立，相比较的话3）OG12的一个正确句子Five fledgling sea eagles left their nests in western Scotland this summer, bringing to 34 the number of wild birds successfully raised transplants from Norway began in 1975.就是正确的表示结果，因为前一句话是eagles发出的动作，由此产生了第二个动作，所以第二个动作可以说由主语同时发出，可以apply to，然后你再比较1）就是原文不能表同时也不能表必然的结果。
