The statement asserts that the general welfare of people is the surest indicator of a great nation,but not the achievement of its rulers,artists,or scientists.While I concede that the general welfare is an import factor that can reflect the quality of peoples life in a great nation,the achievements of its rulers,artists,or scientists is also an indispensable indicator.

Admittedly,the general welfare is a kind of way by which the nation contributes to the whole society.Imagine that if there are no welfare in our society,we cannot ensure the beautiful environment in cities,the free education for children,and the medical insurance for old people when they retired.Hence,it is easy to see that welfare plays an increasingly important role in our society in facilitating the well-being parameter.Besides,the general welfare is the fundamental warrant of a society to thrive while we consider the people's well-being is the most significant factor to ensure the impetus of people to study and to work.

However,even though the general welfare is a significant indicator,we cannot ignore the significant part of the achievements of the nations rulers,artists,or scientists.In the whole history,the development of society is always related to the achievements in art or science.For example,it is the Newton's law of motion laid the foundation for the development of industry which later produced the Industry Revolution and since then the human has stepped into a new stage.Moreover,it is the momentous invention of penicillin that help the countless people free themselves from the terrible illness.Besides,when it comes to art,we can apparenly find out that art provides inspiration,lifts the human spirit,and incites out creativity and imagination,all of which may help us to understand easier and to reason more reasonable.Hence,these various achievements indeed facilitate the development of a society even the world and we can definitely regard the achievements as a crucial indicator of a great nation.

In conclusion,the general welfare and the achievement of rulers,artists,or scientists are both important in indicating a great nation.Only by combining all of them can we build a harmonious and happy society to live.

Workers in the small town of Leeville take fewer sick days than workers in the large city of Masonton, 50 miles away. Moreover, relative to population size, the diagnosis of stress-related illness is proportionally much lower in Leeville than in Masonton. According to the Leeville Chamber of Commerce, these facts can be attributed to the health benefits of the relatively relaxed pace of life in Leeville.



The arguer asserts that there are many facts that workers in the small town of Leeville take fewer sick days than workers in the large city of Masonton and the diagnosis of stress-related illness is proportionally much lower in Leeville than in Masonton because of the health benefits of the relatively relaxed pace of life in Leeville.Altough this argument may seem reasonable at first glance,it is in fact flawed in several aspects with a close scrutiny.

In the first place,a threshold problem with the argument involves the reliability of the statement that workers in Leeville take fewer sick days than worker in Masonton.The arguer provides no evidence that the number of respondents is statistically significant or that the respondents were representative of all kinds of workers in general.It is entirely possible that the respondents in Masonton are all laborious workers who are easier to get a sick like IT engineer but the respondents in Leeville participate in a relaxed job.It is easy to see that the arguer's reasoning is unreliable under this circumstance.Without accounting for and ruling out this and other alternative situations,the arguer cannot bolster the recommendation.
