[求助]UIUC HR 的e-mail,这代表什么？

我今天收到这样一封来自ＵＩＵＣ HR的信。。

Dear All:

Attached you will find a fellowship that is available for fall 2007.  The criteria for this fellowship are pretty specific.  You MUST have worked during your undergraduate years to be eligible to be considered.  This means during the school year, and not just during the summers.  

 If you feel that you meet the criteria, I encourage you to apply.  It is a fairly short turnaround—it is due back to me on March 26^th.  You can fill it out and email it back to me at this address, or if you would rather, print it out and then send it to me at the ILIR address.  

 Obviously, the more detailed you are, the better.  For your employment information, we would like dates and contact info.  Additionally, if you put down how many hours a week, it obviously helps the selection committee.  It might also be helpful to submit a resume.

 If you do apply, please take the time to really think about the application.  In previous years, we have received a few applications that obviously were not well thought out nor did they meet the criteria.  The alum that donated wants to see this go to a student that worked their entire way through college and cares more about effort and potential than you grades up to this point (as he is aware that working may have affected those grades—although it may not have, as we have had recipients that have been on both ends of the GPA spectrum).

 Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about this.  Again, sorry for the quick turn around time, but we want to have the decision made before your April 15^th deadline to answer our admission offer.

我还没有收到任何decision, 为什么就发关于奖学金的信息给我呢？？有没有同申UIUC HR的朋友收到这封信呢？这封信是人人都收到的还是被录取了的人才收到的呢？？奇怪。。奇怪。。。

嗯，好几个人都收到了。估计是被录取了。AD是平信寄来的。国内的暂时还没到吧。

GX楼上的GG了。他家AD应该是平信吧？你最后决定去UIUC还是Rutgers呢？

uiuc....i asked some HR professionals in north america including a director from a HR program, all of them told me that both program are very good on the same level. it really depends on your preference. however, personally i feel that uiuc has better overall reputation ( like overall ranking is high). So, it is my choice.

AD letter from uiuc at this time is not really an official one. it is only from the department to inform you that you have been selected as a candidate for admission. if you accept the offer, let them know ASAP, the graduate school will send you a formal one with i20. (called Becky to confirm)

an informal letter to inform you that you have been a candidate for admission, but official letter will be sent , only if you accept their offer.
