Some Nonverbal Vocal Communication Is Learned
We humans are pretty good at communicating with sounds other than words. But how much of this is hard-wired, and how much do we pick up from others?
To find out, reachers<researchers> recorded nonverbal sounds as<of> people boring<bore> desk<deaf聋子>, as they responded to arrange<a range of> positive and negative emotions. See<The> ideas<idea>been<being> that have<if> certain sounds you are learned, death<deaf> people wouldn't know hard<how> to make up<them>.
Then they played back those recordings for good<a group of> hearing individuals, to see if they can<could>decide<decipher译解> this<the> emotion behind each sound. They guessed correctly more than chance would predict – death<deaf> people’s sounds of amusement and releave<relief>or<were> pretty obvious. Which suggests we may be bored<born> primed主要的 to leferside<laugh or sigh>.
But the listener said tough time with these two, they<those> are both expression of triumph .There's<here’s> a hearing person’s.
So the reserchers<researchers> say certain nonverbal sounds may require experience to learn - just as in language. Now<They’ll> present the findings of<at> a meeting of Acoustical Society of American<America>.
There are theories<Their theory> that's<fits> nicely with a previous study, which found child<shouts呼喊 of> triumph vary from culture to culture. Maybe that explains why some people can not stand the moves era<vuvuzela>.
