topic: Although science and technology will continue to improve, the most significant improvement for the quality of people's lives have already taken place.

     Science and technology are one of the characteristics of human being, which can differentiate us from other creatures. Needless to say that it is science and technology that enable human to live life in the quality thousand times better than other species. Because of this fact, some people claim that the most significant improvement for the quality of people’s lives have already taken place. However, I do not agree with this standpoint, because human always achieve something even beyond our own imagination.
To begin with, I admit that human has already created incredible improvement in so many fields. Because of development of medical science, human has discovered or invented many more effective drugs and means to treat diseases. For example, Yellow fever, once leading to large amounts of death, has been eliminated. Malaria, one of the greatest killer for people, just occasionally spotted in Africa, and organ transplantation are more common nowadays. The improvement in medical has prolonged the proliferation of human. Because of development of machine, people can use air-condition to deal with torrid weather in summer, can get help from cranes to lift tons of goods and material, and can travel from Europe to America by plane within several hours rather than several months. Because of development of agriculture, people have more kinds of foods and vegetables to eat, which can provide us with more nutrition and energy. It is easy to find than people living now are stronger and taller than those before.
However, in my perspective, it is too early to say that the most consequential improvement has taken place. Actually, there are more important tasks waiting human of future to finish and I believe people in the future can make it. For example, population of human is approaching the limit of capacity of the earth and large amounts of people have created huge burden and irreversible destruction on our home. What is our future? Maybe there is one another planet which we have no discovered allowing human to live. Maybe one day we can establish living bases on certain one planet to survive. If that day finally comes, I think it will be more important.
In addition, even through human have made great progress in science and technology which dramatically improve the material life, human still can not escape the devil existing inside. Wars have been accompanying the history of human since immemorial old time. From Trojan War to battles among European countries, from the First World War to conflicts in the Near East, human has been afflicted by violence and weapons. Even in daily life, people can not always get along with even friends and family. If one day science and technology enable human to get ride of devils of ourselves and help people to have calm and peaceful inner world, it will be more significant.
     In conclusion, even though human has achieved a lot, we should not now groove on what we have had and be complacent. I believe human can create more important accomplishment. And human will be more prosperous in the future.
