1. CKGSB is an independent school but our students do have an option to get a degree recognized by the Ministry of Education if they want to. In the long run, as long as the market recognizes the degree, it does not matter whether you get a degree from the Ministry of education or not. 2. The degree is will have the Seal from the Ministry of Education and approved by a nine member degree committee and could be used for residency issues. 3. Uniqueness is linked with the adjective of independent school in LZ's post. There are two independent schools in China, CEIBS and CK. The Ministry of education did not approve but acknowledge the degree from CEIBS. We respect the courage and choice of CEIBS but we decided to take a different route and have to option of getting the approval of the Ministry of education for students who may need it. 4. We never said five years.  lease reference the source of your quote. 5. There is no minimum requirement for the exam to get the degree. In that sense, it is a formality. Personally, I feel that the Ministry of Education should let the schools have the power of granting degrees. However, in China, education is still under heavy control of the government which is a pity. That is why I feel CEIBS is so brave in simply sidestepping the Ministry of Education. Hope this helps.
