Claim: When planning courses, educators should take into account the interests and suggestions of their students.Reason: Students are more motivated to learn when they are interested in what they are studying.
Is there a need for educators to consider the students’ opinions and suggestions when making the courses setting? Hard as the question is, I believe that the advice taken by decision makers will lead to a fair consequence for different groups. The students, undoubtedly, would benefit from advised courses to motivate themselves study hard. Teachers and educators work more efficiently to educate people. And a larger group of the educated contributes a lot to the social condition.
Students’ satisfaction about the change in courses setting will add to their enthusiasm and motivation on study. As the target of education, what the students feel about the courses and curriculum matters so much. If students felt unsatisfied with the courses, their antipathy would certainly appear on their grades or other performance, which is the least expecting thing both for the educators and students themselves. However, if educators can lower their position to get to know what is in students’ mind, things will end up better. The change in China’s national curriculum setting can be a compelling evidence. In the past, there were endless complaints about the courses saying that too many theoretical stuff and dated texts appeared in the textbooks. As a result, it is commonplace for the majority of school kids to l bored with the courses. However, after the Chinese Education Department accepts those complaints and embarks on altering the learning content from clichés into updated information, the performance of students in the whole country ameliorates a lot. Many students, according to CCTV, the chief media in the country, claim that they become more interested in the devised courses and feel inspired to adsorb new knowledge. In addition, society is also benefited by a swarm of students who are into studying to have more literate and educated citizens, at the same time cutting down the illiterate rate.
Taking advice from students into thoughts, the educators who make the decision harvest a lot, as well. What is the main task and target of an educator? It’s to get people educated and help them gain necessary knowledge or more. By listening to the students about their feelings and ideas, what the educator is trying to do is draw its targets closer and find ways make them willing to study voluntarily. When more and more students feel satisfied and interested in courses, making effort to achieve something both in their schooling and in the society, the goal of educators is actually fulfilled. What’s more, booming interest and attention arouse an increase of people who are inclined to receive higher education, also leading to more profit to education institutions in the practical perspective.
Admittedly, it is not suitable to fully accept what the students say about the course. Students’ opinions can be superficial or emotional so that they raise some comments just to avoid things difficult to conduct but decisive in their prospect. Therefore, it is very essential for decision makers to comprehensively think about every single problem on courses setting and planning, judge all possible outcomes, and find a way out to balance what the students ask for and what the educators provide.
All in all, to hear the voices and calls of students is rewarding for educators. After all, students’ interest and effort on study is so important for not only themselves, but also the education systems and even society and country. As long as steps are taken prudently, it will be beneficial to take suggestions of students into account.
