Educational institutions have a responsibility to dissuade students from pursuing fields of study in which they are unlikely to succeed.
Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the claim. In developing and supporting your position, be sure to address the most compelling reasons and/or examples that could be used to challenge your position.
The author suggests that educational institutions should have responsibility to discourage their students from studying the majors which are deemed to be unsuccessful, statement that is actually unilateral, however. The speaker overlooks some significant elements of being success, such as students’ interests. So, frankly, I think the suggestion is not a beneficial one to students and it may be harmful for their future life.
Generally speaking, students need educational institutions offer guidance for their academic research and career planning indeed, especially when they are confused about their life, or bring a lot of damage to themselves even to a society.Guidance, a uniquely American educational innovation, focuses on the complete development of individual students through series of services that inhibit individual growth. The institution dissuades students from doing things which obstruct students to achieve the self-understanding and self-direction necessary to make informed choices and move toward personal.
Although these educational institutions are seemingly to prevent students from chasing dreams, they in fact just help students to realize their dreams more easily by means of giving some helpful advices.Responsible educational institution would appreciate the students’ decision and guide them forward instead of dissuading from their pursuing fields of study in which they interest, even if these fields are unlikely to succeed. This is because it is very hard for us to define what it is really a displacement activity and what is a really unsuccessful thing. For examples, aircraft must be supposed to an impossible vehicle until the Wrights built the first plane successfully, Liu Lu, a schoolfellow of mine, cracks a math conjecture which floored many mathematicians for nearly twenty years.Nobody knows what will actually happen if we don’t devote time, energy to it.
Furthermore, the teaching idea of educational institutions is to help students to discover unknown things and to explore humans’ potential.Suppose we implement the advises which is proposed by the speakers, it may result in only one consequence that students will lose the opportunity to make their ideas real and the society will stay in complacent and conservative and never get developed and progressed.Absolutely, this idea of the author’s statement is far from the idea of educational institutions.
There are many reasons not to dissuade students from doing what can seem like failures. The enthusiasm of students to chase dreams and the teaching purpose of educational institutions are the most obvious.Whether a student will succeed at a field of study or not, it only depends on the student himself/herself.The educational institution should play a role in students’ decision by giving them positive energy, like Nike’s slogan: JUST DO IT.
第二次写作,写了快4个小时。但感觉文章很空洞,没有什么内容在里面,求指导 还有430字是不是有点少呢 |
