below i list some statistics of my background

1.undergraduate in economics , Zhong Cai (china)
2.    almost  4yrs working experiences as a lecture, trainer in hr .related center
3.will get a m.a in educational psy, second tier university (70th )in the states.  gpa is not very good, 3.64
4.gre verbal 590, quan800
5. three good recommendations ,  from two american professors, (not famous) another  recommendation from a  director of research center i worked for in texas.
6. no publication. ( one actually, but in chinese)
7. research experiences ( conference , project, ETC)
what kind of schools do you think i should consider for my ph.d in Human resources related filed?

schools i screen out to  apply:

1.usc(southen california),2. uiuc( labor institute,)  3.maryland,4. rutgers,
5. ufl,  6.UIUC (education school , Human resource education)
7. Cornell 8. U chicago ( not sure)

The schools are probably all good. it is very risky ..... But I don;t want to end up with  somewhere I would not like to go. First apply, if failed, I will see next year.

I think you should cross out U Chicago and add two other schools as backup.

I kinda take UIUC Education school for backing me up. I know this sounds a little ..........out there. But ..... I don;t know.
P.S. I heard U chicago is cool , but it is not as selective as UCLA in Business Ph.D , that's why I screen out UCLA, and kept U chicago.
But I  think you must be right.

UCLA is very selective because you are competing with Chinese!!!
But i am not very sure whether there are many chinese run for HR.
You'd better check these two school carefully again.
