这题我也选择的C，但是不得不按照OG的意思去理解：OG说C的问题是句子意思有问题。

句子本身的意思是：海星丢了一只手，他可以很快的回复。他可以通过“超强的再生能力“和”本来就多长了几只手”两种能力来恢复。

C的意思是：海星丢了一只手，他可以很快的回复。他可以通过“超强的再生能力”来恢复，这种“超强的再生能力”体现在他可能一次长出来“额外的”1只手或者2只手。
那么，如果是，只长出来一只手的话，我觉得说是“额外的”不太合适。由此，判断，“extra”是本来就多长的手。

感觉LZ说的好绕啊，我就只是简单的把它理解成少了并列连词and,改变了overcompensating和growing之间的关系。做语法题不需要去在内容上钻牛角尖吧

我觉得楼主说的有道理如果不钻内容的话 C在很大程度上特别是语法上也能说通。语法题内容也重要大家都强调语义
