So my following thoughts are for your reference only. I don't guarantee how accurate my information is, so please do your own research.
I heard Top 20 schools admitted mid-30 candidates in their full-time programs, and are not that age sensitive, especially if you don't change your career direction too much. They even expect students with more experience to enrich the class discussion and their communities. I would suggest you visit campuses and speak to Adcom about your concerns. Most schools don't publish the age distribution of their classes, but if you visit them in person, you should be able to get some insights.
That said, I would still suggest you consider couple of M7 programs, such as Wharton, MIT, CBS and Kellogg. They might be a bit friendlier to older applicants. You can treat them as your "stretch" schools, as the spots reserved for older applicants are very few in each top program, so that the competition for older applicants is usually a lot fiercer.
You could prepare couple of lower Top 20 or Top 25 schools as your safety schools.
Hope it helps. |
