GMAT中, and also这样的选项是否可能为正确答案？还是应该作为重复排除？

where'd you hear that "and also" is always redundant?
you may not ever have seen "and also" in a correct SC answer, but there are certainly situations in which it is acceptable.
e.g.
I brought the chicken you requested, and also a side order of fried rice.
there's nothing "incorrect" or "redundant" about and also here. the point of using it is clear: it emphasizes the idea that i brought more than what you asked for.

here, they're doing the same sort of thing -- placing extra emphasis on the fact that the cultural preservation has been attributed to two different things.

also可以做副词，and also应该没问题，同样的还有and thus, and therefore, and consequently, 这些副词不能独立引导句子，如果不加and 等连词，签名要加上分号。

赞同楼上的解释，很清晰。你要问的是不是both and ..also?这种结构出现我认为是不合适的。摆明了考both and的固定搭配。

我也说一句，刚看到曼哈顿第5版，idioms那一章，146页，里面把and also归到了suspect这一类，也就是说，既不是right，也不是wrong，连曼哈顿都没有给出确切说法，那么做题时，应该不能作为排除选项直接排除，还是要从其他的硬伤着手。
