偶不明白的地方：

1，同位语从句中，第二个that(pace后面的那个）在句子中作什么成份，有引导了一个什么从句？

2，snail的愿意是蜗牛，在这里应该怎么解释呢（是不是不该问这个）

1) 是定语从句修饰snail's pace.

2) 减慢蜗牛的速度.

可是我还是觉得在这里理解为 减慢蜗牛的速度好像解释不通阿，前后好像都在说国会的一个device

The key is (A), however, I ruled out (A) because that is not used between and and tests. Why there is no that ? is it acceptable to omit that ?

that 在不会引起歧义的时候, 是可以省略的,

好像that只有在表语从句结构中才一定不能省略吧

比如...are that... and that...

此句的第二个that就一定不能省

而在定语从句中是不是一定要省略that呢？

因为我感觉ETS都是prefer简洁的

就像虚拟语气中的should是一定要省略的
