[原创]Ivey class visit tips

1) be in time and relax.

2)eat more in breakafast, the lunch (refreshment) will make you hungry the whole afternoon

3) some weared business suit, some did not. Be decent. At least a shirt is necessary.  I did not wear suit as I think that was too formal. That depends on you.

4)prepare a short (1-2min) oral personal description, since you will be probably requested by the prof to give a self recommendation to the whole class before the class begins. don't say things stupid like: I am very a bit nervious when facing so many excellent students here or I am proud to be one of you. Again, be decent, that is enough.

5) try to speak with everyone, including Chinese your friends, in English during the whole class visit day. try not to communicate with other Chinese applicants oftenly in Chinese language, that will make other applicants feel uncomfortable. .

To make Ivey's prof. have good impression to Chinese applicants, it is important for us to think about some more tips that should be addressed here for all Ivey's applicants.

Oh yes, you have to be in Canada so that you can join the class visit day. In addition, Ivey also provide "traval program" this year. For detail you may refer to the Ivey's website.

Ivey does have MBA program in Hongkong, but obviously no class visit over there.

I have other questions:

1.Shall I bring resume with me so that i might conduct any interview with admission officer?Although the admission officer told me that it was impossible to conduct any interview at that moment.

2.   do u think it is useful to have dinner with the relevant professor?

This is really a good job for people coming for class visit in ivey. We appreciate that, as current Ivey MBAs.

My opinion:

1. always have your resume handy, in case people ask you questions about that. Interview is possible during the class visit day. You could confirm that by e-mails.

2. It will be difficult to get a dinner with the profs since everyone here is working with tight schedule. If you get e-mail from MBA office that you are invited for some breakfast or dinner, you'd better take the chance to learn more and try your best to impress them.
