i would like to seek detailed explanation on "suspenseful sentence". Is the following sentence acceptable?

" She saw, cowering in the corner of the room, a thoroughly frightened child."

i donot think the sentence you made above is correct,coz "cowering in the corner of the room"is used to depict the child ,not she,so,the meaning of  the sentence will be more clear if the sentence made as below:

She saw a thoroughly frightened child cowering in the corner of the room.
