感谢baby姐的倾情大篇心经。很正！方法论，赞！在meaning部分，给出了一篇eGMAT”5 strategies that GMAT uses to distort meaning“.感觉确实e-GMAT比曼GMAT要好懂。but有些地方，还是assume我们已经明白了。下面这题，句意到底在说啥？虽然答案很好选，C，但是 the reason在句中是什么结构？noun + noun modifier?请大NN解析一下。

At the heart of euro crisis is Mrs. Merckel's lasck of quick or bold reaction, the reason for lack of halting of the downward spiral of the euro.

E-Gmat的那份20页的资料我通读了，从语义入手分析确实提供了一种新的思路，不过要说比曼哈顿好就有点过誉了。
说说这题，首先正确选项是A：
句子意思：这次欧元危机的核心是【默克尔女士缺乏果敢的应对措施】，这也是为什么不能阻止欧元的螺旋下跌。
结构分析：
At the heart of euro crisis is Mrs. Merckel's lack of quick or bold reaction, the reason for lack of halting of the downward spiral of the euro.
1、At the heart of euro crisis is Mrs. Merckel's lack of quick or bold reaction，这是介词在句首的全倒装的系表结构肯定句，主语是名词“lack”，谓语是系动词“is”，介词“At the heart of euro crisis ”做表语。
2、 the reason for lack of halting of the downward spiral of the euro，这是名词独立结构修饰名词“lack”，补充说明“lack”的影响。
C与A的区别：
C中 the reason that downward spiral of the euro has not halted 中的that引导同位语从句，这个从句补充说明reason，句子意思变为：欧元的下降螺旋没有停止是“the reason”原因，改变了原来的句子意思，因此错误。

啊！是啦。应该就是我说的那个noun +noun modifier的结构，来修饰前文，因为前文句子到装了，所以修饰lack of bold reaction的结构。不过不明白句子意思。某个人的行为，怎么会是不能阻止欧元下滑的原因。尼玛，突然想起来，这货不会是德国总理吧。
顺便说一下，答案是C哈！因为Mrs. Merckel's 后面有两个名词，定义修饰的词可以是lack or reaction但实际是lack of bold reaction所以C的改变比较OK。关于你说的reason部分，材料有解释。
