请教大家一道题~GWD和PREP答案不一样也是醉了...

这道题以前做GWD的时候貌似答案是E，昨天用prep模考了一下，发现答案是D，网上大部分同志也支持E，所以...到底哪个是对的呀...?谢谢各位大神！

as......as的平行结构

E: as+句子......as+句子构成的形式平行。

D选项：as charge，charge缺乏主语，无法和前面的many independent institutions of higher education CHARGE tuition and fees...平行。
上面是百度上的解答，还有说those与independent institutions of higher education相对应

这时候的比较就是在 under $8,000 和 over $16,000.~~
而E.charging这个时态就对不上,THOSE指代什么？是independent institutions 还是tuition and fees。是有问题的

我觉得选E
those 指代 independent institutions没有歧义，因为后面有一个charging，它在句子中是一个现在分词做后置定语的作用，这样就很明显了，只有institutions才能主动发出这个动作，tuition and fee肯定不行。

这个句子的结构简化，看起来就明确多了
上述句子变成
more than 3 times as A charge fees as B

其中A就是institutions, 那么作为平行对比，B也要是一个对等名词，所以必须要有those

意思就是学费低于8000一年的学校数量是那些学费高于16000的学校数量的3倍。虽然我也觉得这个句式很奇怪，但目前看来最优选项只能是E
