PREP08版语法笔记上的最后一题

在PREP08版笔记里有这样一道题：

On account of alaw passed in 1933, making it a crime punishable by imprisonment that a United States citizen hold gold in the form of bullion or coins,immigrants found that on arrival in the United States they had to surrenderall of the gold they had brought with them.

A. Onaccount of a law passed in 1933, making it a crime punishable by imprisonmentthat a United Statescitizen hold

B. Witha law passed in 1933 that makes it a crime punishable by imprisonment that a United Statescitizen hold

C. A lawpassed in 1933 that made it a crime punishable by imprisonment for a United Statescitizen holding

这道争议的GWD题选的是D，当时因为because of后面加了比较复杂的句式所以直接排除了，当时没有看见Hold这个错题点，那么because of加简单名词这样的定律是不是在GMAT里并不绝对？

你好，在manhattan语法的idioms当中是这样解释because of后加名词加从句的：这个属于suspect范畴，而不属于wrong的范畴。可能有些awkward，但是不能算错，详见第146页，不知道能否解答你的疑问。
