In 1914 a total of469,000 cars and trucks were produced in the United States, but in 1929 almosttwice the numbers of trucks alone came off the assembly lines. A. thenumbers of trucks alone B. thatnumber of trucks alone C. thenumber of trucks by themselves D. asmany trucks themselves (B) E. asmany trucks by themselves 这道题本身没有选错是B,但是看到PREP08版语法笔记里有这样一段话给自己绕糊涂:对于C选项中aeoluseros关于by themselves的看法: 这个句子的意思是“仅仅”卡车就已经两倍量的生产了, themselves反身代词是对trucks的同位语,表示强调是trucks而已,我们往往可以看作没有反身代词,就如同同位语往往与句子主成份无关一样,所以用alone比用themselves语义上更加强烈。但这不能成为第一位的筛选原则。effectiveness性错误.
这句话一直没有弄明白,希望大神解释反身代词是强调trucks,但是alone不也是强调trucks吗?
