ManhattanSC里chapter4的练习题疑问关于平行结构

The joint business venture will increase employee satisfaction and be improving relations between upper management and staff.
要改错，我改的是在be improving前加will，答案是把be improving 改成improve，请问为什么我这样不行啊~我是看了前面语法说可以加that之类的词来分清结构的，现在有点混乱了。。。
还有Many teachers choose to seek employment in the suburbs rather than facing low salaries in the city.
这句话我也是把facing改成了to face，这里是不是因为rather than的关系才不能在后面加to do？

因为第一个句子里
根据意思 increase 和 improve 需要平行
两个平行动词共用一个will
will be doing 不符合句子愿意

第二个句子没看懂你问什么

第二个问题我的意思是本来我想把rather than facing改成rather than to face的，但答案是rather than face，我是想问这里不是to face的原因是不是因为rather than do的固定句式？

rather than to face 应该是没错的
但是to 可以省略
and和rather than这类平行marker 因为在中间
所以可以由你自行决定to do和to do平行，或是共用一个to, do和前面的do平行
