给出的答案是A 但我错选B 文章给出的解释是，B中的tripling 错误，但我觉得，tripling 动名词做主语不行么？

但是A选项里面的because后面不是应该接句子的么？而且ｂｅｃａｕｓｅ感觉好多余　直接as a result of....and....不就好了嘛

求教！！！

”due to“ can only modify “noun”
Her success was due to hard work （hard work → success）

back to this question：
a tripling in the average output of ironwork was due to the replacement
（replacement → a tripling in the average output of ironwork）that‘s wrong；
the meaning is “replacement → ironwork has been tripled（that is a sentence）

because 后面确实是句子：coal replaced charcoal。 replaced 就是动词
即使“直接as a result of....and....不就好了嘛”是正确的，但这不能说明A选项错。

首先应当明确句意：the average output of ironwork tripled ，原因1+原因2
原句想说明，一件事的发生，有2个原因，原因1 +原因2
但是B：in addition to A, B is due to C. 那么是A究竟是和B 对应，都是结果，还是和C平行，都是原因？
