1、从逻辑意思上考虑这道题：
The soft drink company's flat earnings for the second quarter reflect both the success of its restructured global bottling system and the extent of poor currency exchange rates keeping down profits for multinational companies.
主干是 earnings reflect both the success and the extent.
and连接两个并列的宾语。如果两个东西可以并列，那么他们一定是“同类的”。the success是一个“绝对”的意思不（成功or不成功）？如果用the extent to which或者 to what extent，是不是都是一个“相对”的概念（到何种程度：小，比较小，不大不小，比较大，非常大）？一个绝对的概念和一个相对的概念是不能并列的。
收入反映了xxx的成功和xxx的程度（一个具体的程度）。

2、从结构上看：
C在and前后并列的两个名词结构还是比较对称的：success of its restructured global bottling system和 extent of poor currency exchange rates+定语后置（keeping down profits for multinational companies ）
虽然这不是判断正确选项的办法，但是对称还是优点不是缺点。

这道题目应该选B吧，如楼上高手所说首先要平行，所以就只剩下B和C了。

Ron's lecture中说：
Preposition + Noun + Verb ing 结构
这种结构只有在Verbing做Modifier的时候才正确，检验是否这个verbing结构是不是modifier可以，去掉这个部分，如果意思正确的话，那么这个用法正确，如果错误的话，那么这个用法错误。

如果the extent of poor currency exchange rate 去掉keeping down放回到句中，成立的话，这个结构才对。

但是这道题目中，单独一个the extent of poor currency exchange rate似乎意思不太对

举例： We all laughed because of tom walking to ladies’ bathroom.  错误
因为walking在这里不是modifier，如果去掉walking,这个句子变成 we all laughed because of Tom.这个句子的意思很奇怪。
   There is no evidence of my brother stealing the candy. 错误
因为stealing在这里也不是Modifier,如果去掉stealing，这个句子变成 there is no evidence of my brother,意思很奇怪。
   I gave five dollars to beggar walking on the street 正确
取代ｗａｌｋｉｎｇ这个句子意思仍然完整。

楼主把题发成这样，真是无语，

我认为B,c 从结构上来说都没有什么问题，但是从我们对这个事情的了解来看，逻辑上B是正确的，C翻译出来是错误的，也可能我们对相关知识了解太少了。

这道题选择C是正确的。

the extent的用法只有：
1、to the extent/ degree of sth
2、 to the extent / degree that...

B中the extent to which poor currency exchange rates are keeping down profits for multinational companies就是错误的表达方式。
CD中的to what extent poor currency exchange rages are keeping down profits for multinational companies倒是一种正确的表达方式，可惜both位置错了。
