Hey everyone!  I just realized that we have many great Powerpoint Slide Presentations that we have delivered over the past six months or so, all about MBA applications.  And many are about applications by Chinese applicants.  I am always traveling around the world delivering these kinds of speeches--but I wanted to share these materials with you, our friends at ChaseDream.  So have a look, and enjoy!   We will post a new one every day or so.  And we have LOTS so keep checking!  Feel free to reach out with any questions of course, and good luck!

Overcoming Application ObstaclesLow GPA? Low GMAT? Work gap? All red flags for the adcom. Unless you know how to couch it properly. After this one-hour seminar, you will. We’ll discuss the optional essay, actions you can take to prove to the adcom that you’ve got the chops to hack it in b-school, and other strategic ways to enhance the positives and make the adcom forget about the negatives.

Non-traditional Backgrounds and the MBA Application
So, you don’t work in a bank. Or in consulting. Or in business of any kind. You’re a teacher. Or an environmental guy. Or an artist who needs an MBA to open a gallery. And for the purposes of an MBA application, that’s a great thing (you’re unique) and a challenge (you’re different). Learn the right way to brand yourself for the adcom and prove that you’re the right and best person for their program.

Career changes and the MBA application
You need an MBA to break into a new industry, yes? Makes sense. Except that career changes can make admissions committees nervous if not presented properly. We’ll explain why and how to handle the career change artfully on your MBA application in this one-hour webinar.

Europen Programs Presentation
One of the main factors (we’ll getto the rest soon) differentiating European Programs from American ones is thelength of time, making it a VERY good choice for candidates who
a)Areolder

b)Wantto spend less money
c)Wantto spend less time out of the job market
d)Wantthe same results as an American MBA

5 Ways to Improve Your App Early

Sure it's still early, but here are five key ways to improve your MBA app now

Age and the MBA Application
Most MBA programs in the US look for applicants in the 25-28 range. So what do you do if you’re 23? What if you’re 32? We’ll explain how to broach the topic, how to take age out of the equation, and review specific programs that are more amenable to older and younger applicants.

Letters of Recommendation
Whom to ask? How to ask? What should they say? What if they want me to write it? What does a great LOR look like? A bad one? We’ll get into all of that and more in this one-hour webinar devoted to the LOR.

Crushing_the_MBA_Resume
MBAResumes are likemini-baby-versions of yourentire application.

Solet’scut the crap already.  What does itreally take to get into bschool (inyour app AND in your resume?)

Hey there, ya some schools DO offer internships for Spring, some don't. This is something you have to check on a school by school basis, because each school has its own unique policy. But on the other hand, you still might want to wait until September, because you are a bit late even for spring applications, and if you start NOW preparing yourself for R1 in Sept/Oct of this year, you will likely be giving yourself the best possible chances.

Oh… I would guess that it’s even more! Actually we don’t have PROOF that 50% of people used professional essay editing consultants, because a lot of this is hush-hush, but having been to Harvard and talked to people, I could say that at least half of the folks out there are using professional consultants.

hey there
Both schools are VERY open to reapplicants! The important thing to focus on is how you ADVANCED and CHANGED over the last year (or more) since you last applied. They want to see that you are still focused on your goals, and that you have made headway in coming still closer to them! Good luck my friend, feel free to reach out if there is any more we could help with

Hi Frank, I have a question about the TOEFL score. As some MBA school has set the minimum score on TOEFL such as some Top 10 business school, but some of these top schools only require the TOEFL test without specific score limits. Now I have got my TOEFL test of 103, not a high score. I do not know whether I can still pass the qualification of the Top 10 schools who do not have a specific TOEFL score ? Do I need to take another test for a higher score ?

You should if you can. You always want to go in with the best numbers possible. Especially if you are apply for M7 schools, and especially for Harvard/Wharton/Stanford. You have to do the best you can of course, and if it's time for you to apply and you don't have exactly the TEOFL score you want, you can still apply, but you need to take into consideration whatever score you actually have.
