it 指代dollar bill
far less是修饰 it（dollar bill）将dollar bill和four quaters作比较

楼主你要看明白句子的意思，这里 because it 中的it 指的是dollar coin 而不是dollar bill.

一美元硬币用来代替4个2毛5分的硬币（0.25*4 =1）多过用来代替一美元的纸币因为一美元的硬币只有8.1克重，比起每个重5.67 的 2毛5的硬币轻。

it 不可能指代一美元纸币的呀，再说了哪里有一张纸币重8克的比一个2毛5分的硬币还重，楼主你说说合理么

个人认为，it 是指代 Sacagawea dollar。

是的 Sacagawea dollar 就是 Sacagawea dollar coin = 1 dollar coin
