我这题第一次做的时候什么都没看，完全看指代的，然后就选了C 虽然后来发现C的时态有问题。
答案是D，但是D选项最后的那个it指代有问题啊，求指教，谢谢啦~

用语法地位去判断，平行情况下你是能判断出优先指代谁的

C选项时态不符合逻辑，属于必错选项

单纯用指代去做题非常危险

这题有贴讨论，我支持it是形式主语指代 to be an expatriate，但是AB为什么不对？
OG上的解释To/FOR Josephine Baker … her is redundant and awkward,为什么redundant and awkward；
还有and前面有逗号，两个句子的主语不一定都要一样，consision是最后考虑的我觉得AB都对

对于redundent是因为后面已经给出了paris和JB的关系，前面的介短就是多余的，比如：对于我来讲，mary是我的妈妈，你不觉得是啰嗦吗？——直接变成，mary是我妈妈足矣。这道题其实根据平行结构and代词指代的平行原则，马上可以排除A、B、E（平行结构，后半句主语位置的代词指代前半句主语）；C选项中，to do不定式一般不会直接作主语，而是用形式主语it代替，因此只有D是正确的, 其中it是形式主语，代替了to be an expatriate，这是没问题的。
而且你说的指代问题，it其实在AB选项既可以理解成指代to be an expatriate，也可以理解成paris，就是有指代歧义的问题。。。。。。
还是支持D哥的话，不要拿指代来优先删除选项哦。。。亲，，，，

C选项你说的错误原因不大对，before 后面接的也是句子，只不过主语是to do结构而已，但还是错了，因为应该用placeholder it

还有，and前后主语一致是不是必须的吧？不能根据前后主语不一致就排除选项吧（因为and前面有逗号）？

我一直不太清楚你们纠结comma干嘛？？老美就是因为句子太长，用逗号当做停顿，清晰语义来用的。。。。。。A but B，若是AB都是名词或者是短小的短语，则一般不用逗号，如果是句子或者是较长的从句，则一般是使用comma的。。。。。在manhattan清晰讲解了，指代问题中的对应问题：“在平行结构中，主语位置的代词就是指代句子主语”

摘自manhattan原句：
Donot use a comma before and to separate two verbs that have the same subject. Either eliminate the comma or add a subject to the second verb, creating a second main clause.
Wrong: Earl walked to school, AND later ate his lunch.
Right: Earl walked to school AND later ate his lunch.
Right: Earl walked to school,AND HE later ate his lunch.
这题有逗号，前后可以是两个独立的句子的，不一定要主语一致

LZ再看一眼我说的就是manhattan的意思，如果就是单一的v和V并列，n
和N并列（也就是主语一致Svo and vo或者是SVO and o），最好是不使用comma的，但是如果是句子并列，是可以使用的：svo,and SVO),那么这道题运用到的平行指代，不就和你举的例子是一样的？Earl walked to school,AND HE later ate his lunch（Earl=he），Josephine Baker made Paris her home,and she remained in France during the Second World War as a performer and an intelligence agent for the Resistance.（JB=SHE),你得找到谁和谁并列啊
