Some people believe that students should be given one long vacation each year. Others believe that students should have several short vacations throughout the year. Which viewpoint do you agree with? Use specific reasons and examples to support your choice.

This is a controversial issue about whether students should be given one long vacation or several short vacations each year.　Depending on personal experience,　personality type and emotional concern,　we may find some people hold the idea that students should be given one long vacation,　on the other hand,　some people might choose several short vacations instead.　The choice,　nevertheless,　is not easy to make.　However,　in my opinion,　I would probably follow that several short vacations throughout the year.　In the following discussion,　I would like to reason and provide evidence to support my viewpoint.

     The essential reason that can be seen by everyone is several short vacations can help students get out of heavy study loads temporarily.　In vacation,　they can have moderate rest,　and do the things they want to do,　relieve the pressure came from so many homework, very busy plans for studying and so forth. So, several short vacations like a kind of medicine that help students escape from the different courses to have a short rest and then continue their following study vigorously. In short, even though there are a lot of different views concerning this topic, in my part, I would also like to vote that students should have several short vacations.

     Another reason of my propensity is that several short vacations can help students review the knowledge having studied before. In these periods, students can not only have a short rest, they can also study the courses that they do not understand clearly. They can achieve this by repeating some exercises which have been done before, asking teachers a few questions. In the meanwhile, students can memorize the knowledge as well, because they are just short vacations. So, if you can see that ,you can understand it more deeply.

     Superior as having several short vacations one year is, however, there are also a few advantages about a long vacation for every year. A long vacation can help students study anything else except for courses of school. Some students can study a kind of sport activity in which they are interested such as football, basketball, and so on. They can get a lot of knowledge and experience which can not be learned at school. Obviously, the advantages of having several short vacations carry more weight than that of having a long vacation. So, the most striking conclusion is apparent.
