OG 13 SC55题：
Many house builders offer rent-to-buy programes that enable a family with insufficient savings for a conventional down payment to be able to move into new housing and to apply part of the rent to a purchase later.
正确选项是改成：programes that enable a family with insufficient savings for a conventional down payment to move into new housing and to aupply
我不理解的是OG解释当中的这段话：family is followed by two phrases that are clear and correct
第一个phrse, with insufficient savings很好理解, 第二个for a conventional...怎么和enable a family连在一起的？？？

首先说选项A的错误：前面已经有enable了，不定式中再有to be able to就多余了。enable sb. to do sth.已经足够好了。
你问的问题我也不知道，不过感觉for a conventional down payment的位置有点儿怪怪的。

a family是逻辑主语 with insufficient savings介词短语起定语作用 for a conventional down payment 表示目的所以意思是 enable 没有足够钱支付payment的家庭 to move and to apply 简化形式：enable family to move and to apply

从逻辑意思上讲这整句的意思是：
承建商提供的“先租后买”项目可以使得没有充足预算交“传统的”订金的家庭搬入新家，并以部分租金抵充日后购房的费用。
For a conventional down payment应该表表示savings的用途，可能改成with insufficient savings to make a conventional down payment更好，但是Family本身是宾语，谓语动词是enable，如果真用了不定式表目的会引起歧义：enable a family with insufficient savings to make a conventional down payment to move into new house... 因为谓语动词是enable，to make a conventional down payment是不定式后置表示savings的目的呢，还是宾补组成enable sb to do sth结构呢？会有歧义。所以在enable这个谓语动词不能改变的前提下，用for 表示目的也可以接受。
拙见。
