求问关于each独立主格和each of which的区别

这个题目正确答案选择D，但是我对于C中那个each of which不理解，解释说C中contributing语法错误，为什么啊？each是独立主格，后加非谓语动词，那么each of which呢？如果也是独立主格结构，那么后面可以接contributing的吧，如果不是，而是个独立的句子，那和前面的句子就不可以直接用逗号链接呢呀！诶。。。。感觉很晕眩，求大神大牛给个解答！谢谢！

each of which 是非限制定语从句

把contributing改成contributes，语法上是正确地。
但是：
each可以表明“每个planet”，
each of which 就显得wordy了。
