第一个从句我是明白的，但是就是that从句中套着的那个从句我不太明白，就是说猩猩展示出好奇，而通过这种好奇，一种pattern可以通过imitation和practice从一个个体传向另一个个体，那么说最后的那个定语从句中两个by觉得好别扭呀new patterns of behavior and expression can be passed on from one to another by imitation and practice by the kind of curiosity

这两个by应该是针对be passed on from one to another

通过模仿和联系来 pass
