答案是b，但是在下不明白为什么 grassy fields and old pastures和bird平行，求高人指点

首先根据like的比较结构排除CDE。
这句话的意思是the grassy fieldsand old pastures (vanishing)和bird(vanishing),我觉得从某种程度上来讲这里是比较是类比，之所以pastures和birds能比较是因为有了vanishing这个限定，使他们两个变成同质可以比较的东西了。A选项错误是因为主谓不一致，sandpipers和is。

那请问怎么从第一个句子里看出有vanishing的意思呢？

1.之前like的介词+名词分句不是从句，故判断应选选项是完整句子。
2.语义连贯，及前分句和后主句主语间不应有插入语。

不懂的话就带回选项找句子的主谓宾好了。从句、分句直接忽略先。

另外一提，这题前半分句意思我看不懂，大抵是“正如sandpiper所需的草场一般，这种鸟本身也正在消失，作为（as）原因的是。。。。” 即like分句和后句共用vanishing 一词。目测题目大概700+；还有GWD的白皮有很多错，建议做CD上那套27的。
