选D吗？ indicate后面用从句，清晰明了。indicating = that indicate。其他的选项根本就读不通吧。。indicative of 这种句式会掩盖后面句子的逻辑关系， PREP破解讲过很多次。 C中后面的that指代不清，when 和 to是错的。

我今晚刷OG有道题正好也有这个考点 OG上的解释是 The -ing form of a verb can be used as a noun,but it is often awkward, particularly when used with a posessive. Substituting the noun for the gerund eliminates the problem.所以DE 要比A好 B的indicative of 后面的核心是a child 而这个题的重点是a child做的一系列的事情比如acquisition of language....所以B也不好E也不太好根据manhattan上的VAN原则动词好于形容词也可以同理排除剩下C和D 我觉得C和awkward 什么that it is that when 而D改正了错误并且indicating伴随状语跟hosted同时发生后面用that表达了indicate的具体内容很clear 而且也避免了gerund,that从句也主谓一致所以正确答案是D

我还有一个月要二战最近也在被GMAT虐的头痛分析的不对的希望大家指正

D。动名词有个用法之一，表示长期存在的事实之类的。law/ regulation什么的说明其内容的都可以直接跟v-ing~~~
