         有两种情况,一个是介词短语,e.g., the A of/in B, it...(此时若AB都为非人类的单数名词,那么是否因为B处在介词短语中,导致it不能指代B?

                              一个是relative clause,e.g., the A of/in B that(此时定语从句是修饰A还是B呢?
                                                                         the A of/in B,which(此时定语从句是修饰A还是B呢?

Thelonious Monk,who was a jazz pianist and composer, produced a body of work both rooted in thestride-piano tradition of Willie (The Lion) Smith and Duke Ellington, yet inmany ways he stood apart from the mainstream jazz repertory.

1.JC是那么name这个动作的主动发出者,那么根据OG一贯的用法,被动语态的使用就会awkward;AB排除;
2.mountains是复数,E的it错误;排除;
3.C中comma+ving用法逻辑主语是The Glass House Mountains, not make sense;
