答案说B can potentially is redundant; in that their is wordy, awkward and ambiguous.
1）不明白，为什么in that their就wordy和awkward了。
2）还有是不是在Gmat中in that 的选项总是不如because的选项。
3）还有A选项中的they为什么就是指代的property values 而不是large investors？
好多问题，求解答啊求解答~~

首先现在新的定义是in that不如because了，这是awkward吧

第二点是原句中没有出现情态动词和很强烈的因果关系，那么B中的can和in that(because)出现都是应该降格处理的句子 -- OG里好像把这种改变原文重心定在比较高的错误级别中

B中另外一个问题是第一个they指depressed property values, 后面紧跟的their根据A中whose的用法来看指的是homeowners，前后指代不一所以是ambiguous。

恩恩，乱加情态动词和强加因果的确不对。可是their和they必须是指待同样的东西咯？是不是如若想指代不同的东西需要再重复那个名词？

because 表示因果关系

in that表示correlation，A in that B , 可以从B看出A的存在，翻译成在于。
because 表示cause-effect relation，A because B, B是A的原因，翻译成因为。

用哪个完全看句子含义。
如果是相关关系用in that没问题。
如果是因果关系，because(for,since) > in that
