Although the cacao plant probably originated in the upper Amazon region, its first cultivation for seeds and pulp was apparently begun in Mexico and Central America.
A.its first cultivation for seeds and pulp was apparently begun
B.apparently it was cultivated for its seeds and its pulp beginning
C.it was apparently first cultivated for its seeds and pulp
D.the beginning of its cultivation for seeds and pulp appears to be
E.the first cultivation for its seeds and pulp appears to have begun

AE first & begun redundant
D appears to be wordy

B: its seeds and its pulp(如果物主代相同,能省则优)
C: its seeds and pulp

AE Redundancy

D是appear to be  这里用法awkward

Although improved efficiency in converting harvested trees into wood products may reduce harvest rates, demand will be stimulated because of increasing supply and lowering prices, which boost consumption.

Although women’s wages are improving, Department of Labor statistics show that the ratio of their earnings to those of men has been roughly static since 1960.

对了..这里appear to be 为什么wordy呀?

Among the surest indications on Earth of sunspot cycles is believed to be the rate at which trees grow, as seen in the rings visible in the cross sections of their trunks.

这里is believed to be 后面直接加了介词结构...

Wrong: The CEO declared that everyone had to work every day through the holidays to make the production deadline, but in calling for such an extreme measure, the company's employees were upset to the point of mutiny.
However, becausethe -ing modifier falls after the conjunction connecting the two clauses, the modifier refersto the employees, not to the CEO.

Right: In an extreme measure, the CEO declared that everyone had to work every day through the holidays to make the production deadline; her employees were upset to the point of mutiny.

Right:The CEO declared that everyone had to work every day through the holi- days to make the production deadline, but in calling for such an extreme measure, she upset her employees to the point of mutiny.
