This with structure refers back to compound insect eye. 所以这个是定语吧？其实因为它不在句尾，所以也不能做状语是吧？

然后想起来以前的一个例句：
He came into the classroom, with a book in his hand. 这里的with是做状语吧？

假如是这样一句句子:
Jack is staring at Tom, with a stone in his hand. 这里的with结构究竟做什么成分？应该是歧义？把with结构放到句首是不是可以避免歧义？

做不做  看句意可以修饰前面的名词也阔以修饰整个句子  要看句意

句子1  做状语说不通做状语用having了

句子2 显然是修饰动作

句子3  独立主格歧义了要么放在句首修饰主语（修饰动作也听别人说过不过感觉修饰主语  主语with a book）  或者把代词换成具体的名字如果反正该末尾

觉得是和compound eye一起去help,这样是不是比较像状语？

刚才又想了半天，关于这个作状语还是定语的问题。感觉是，主要看他的修饰对象，一般状语修饰的都是形容词，副词连词或者句子。定语修饰的是名词代词。
OG的这个WITH肯定是作定语成分了，和位置没关系，状语也可以放在句末或句中的。

不过其实还是挺不明白的，期待有人答疑解惑。
