Issue32 College students should base their choice of a field of study onthe availability of jobs in that field.
Write a response in which you discuss theextent to which you agree or disagree with the claim. In developing andsupporting your position, be sure to address the most compelling reasons and/orexamples that could be used to challenge your position
The arguer asserts that college studentsshould base their choice of a field of study on the availability of jobs inthat field. As far as I’m concerned, I contend that there are absolutely manypeople choose the study only considering the situation of job markets. However,I think the interest and talents in some fields are more critical.
Admittedly, the current society is full of competition in theseeking for a position in a company or a government administration, so it isnot uncanny that most college students take the availability of jobs as theirfirst consideration when they fill the college application. Only get a jobtightly relevant to what we are major in can we have the chance to earn aliving. Without a good salary, we cannot afford the daily consumption such aseating, dressing, housing, transportation and health insurance. In the future,we will be responsible for our family members, so in some extent it is commonto consider the availability of jobs.
However, it is not gingerly to choose the field of study onlyconsidering the availability of jobs. We should also emphasize the importanceof our interest in some fields. In general, when we study the professionalsubjects which we are hardly interested in, the studying efficiency is often restrictedand little knowledge can we learn from the chosen field. Interest is usually saidas the best teacher. It can not only enhance our incentives to study but alsohelp us recognize where and what we should be. Take Bill Gates as the example,he, one of the most brilliant men in the world, even didn’t finish his studyingin Harvard the finest university. After dropping out of school he establishedMicrosoft Corporation making full use of his great talent and interest incomputer. Without his engage engaging in the development of computer, we cannotimagine the convenience of Windows System and MS-DOS. It is the courage topersist his interest that makes him great success.
In fact, individual interest makes one person more easily getachieved and promoted in a certain field. If you are interested in one field, you can obtain more enthusiasm and motivation to complete the required, whichactually doesn’t obstruct the availability of jobs. For example, although somefields are thought as difficult to find jobs such as physics, biology and mathematicsand so on, many scientists and experts in these areas are the elites who are associatedwith the development of a nation or even the world. We can never deny theirgreatness of the research they devote themselves to.
In sum up, I tend to disagree college students should base theirchoice of a field of study on the availability of jobs in that field. Indeed agood job is the guarantee of normal life. Nevertheless, the interest in somefield can make it more likely for us to succeed and let the life full ofpositive energy.(492)

有一点应该考虑,选专业的时候考虑市场需求,但毕业的时候市场情况就变了。
