请教大家下面这个题如何从DE中判断哪个是正确的呢？能否告诉我从哪几个点看出来的呢？谢啦〜

The number of convicted criminals given community service sentences, which allow the criminals to remain unconfined while they perform specific jobs benefitting the public, have risen dramatically.

D) sentences which allow them to remain unconfined in their performing of specific jobs beneficial to the public has
E) sentences allowing them to remain unconfined while performing specific jobs benefitting the public has

不知道LZ的E选项抄错了没有。
我简单的说下选E的理由，allowing这里作定语修饰sentences，performing 又作allowing them to remain unconfined的状语，has这里作谓语对应了The number。

D的which前面有逗号吗？请确认一下。

楼主，我在http://gmatclub.com/forum/in-the-last-few-years-the-number-of-convicted-criminals-70437.html看到的E选项和你的不一样。
我觉得sentences后面用allowing比定语从句更好，因为是直接表示其“内容”。另外，which作为非限制性修饰，其前面应该有“逗号”。并且，perform有专有名词performance，优于动名词performing

1. "which" usually leads to a non-essential modifiers with a COMMA before.
2. D missed "while" --> change the meaning of the sentence
3. verb > noun ("performing")
4. two sides of "while" in E choice are parallel and logic

楼主我说一下我的看法；
看了楼上都反映你抄的有错误，我读了一下也觉得不顺。于是我也去找了原题；

首先D有一个一眼就能看出来的错误；IN后边应该直接用doing而不能接物主代词。如果是考试这一条已经足己排除掉它了
当然。做为一个错误选项它往往不止一个错误。
不知道为什么我感觉，which的前边如果不用逗号，会造成which会跳过sentence去修饰criminal。这种感觉我还没有找到语法依据，但是很强烈。
我几乎想说我可以肯定如果没有逗号，它会跳过去

Thanks！but I still have one question about E.

in E，while后面的动作的逻辑主语应当与前面主句的逻辑主语一致对吗？可是总觉得这里的while后面perform的逻辑主语不能指代criminals。

可以告诉我为什么吗？谢谢啦亲〜

我倒是不觉得E选项while doing表示的“平行结构”。我认为performing的主语应该是criminals，而allowing的主语是sentences。while doing结构在这里应该是作为伴随状语，用来修饰前面的句子，即犯人在保持不受约束的同时，会做一些特殊的工作。虽然逻辑上理解为平行结构没有问题，但是这里的语法结构看不出来是平行。如果是和allowing平行，那么performing的主语就变成sentences,显然逻辑错误。
