B：be subjected to; those 指代extremes错误
C:as 前后不平衡
D改变了句意

B C D E 的选项里面的 as 是含比较的意思，但是as 的出现一定会在前面出现另一个as， as........as 所以B C D E 全排除了。

挖个坟
个人理解，as后面如果直接加名词，说明as是prep，而as做prep时意思完全不一样，是以...身份，当作...的意思。
而这里，如果表示像...的话，应该是做连词conj, 那as后面应该加从句，所以这里as用错了
