33. Many teenagers undergo stress, but results of a recent study indicate that the patterns of stress that girls experience are more likely to result in depression than are those that boys experience.

A are those that boys experience

B what boys experience

C boys’ experience would

D boys’ stress patterns do

E stress patterns of boys

D: 句意改变,do应该为are

不过这句话的比较对象应该是patterns,不是stress,因为A of B的结构的中心词是A,不是B。

Many teenagers undergo stress, but results of a recent study indicate that the patterns of stress that girls experience are more likely to result in depression than
the patterns of stress that boys experience are.

Many teenagers undergo stress, but results of a recent study indicate that what girls experience is more likely to result in depression than what boys experience.

Many teenagers undergo stress, but results of a recent study indicate that the patterns of stress that girls experience are more likely to result in depression than boys experience to result in depression.

A: the patterns of stress (that girls experience) are    more likely    to result in depression    than    are   those (that boys experience )

to result in depression

to result in depression

156. Dirt roads may evoke the bucolic simplicity of another century, but financially strained townships point out that dirt roads cost twice as much as maintaining paved roads.
(A) dirt roads cost twice as much as maintaining paved roads
(B) dirt roads cost twice as much to maintain as paved roads do
(C) maintaining dirt roads costs twice as much as paved roads do
(D) maintaining dirt roads costs twice as much as it does for paved roads
(E) to maintain dirt roads costs twice as much as for paved roads
This sentence compares the costs required to maintain two kinds of roads. B, the best choice, is able to maintain parallelism in the comparison as well. Choice A incorrectly shifts the meaning by comparing the cost of dirt roads with the cost of maintaining paved roads. Choice C does the opposite: it compares the cost of maintaining dirt roads with the cost of paved roads themselves. Choice D further confuses the sentence by adding a nonparallel clause, it does for, in which it has no clear referent. Choice E introduces the infinitive phrase to maintain... and wrongly attempts to complete the comparison with the nonparallel prepositional phrase for....

B 选项中: what boys experience :

the patterns of stress (that girls experience) are    more likely   to result in depression    than      what boys experience

1) what boys experience 和 the patterns of stress 不对等,不如用those 好。

这道题目than 后 为何是:are   those (that boys experience ) ?而不是:those (that boys experience ) are ?

than those (that boys experience ) are  可以么?请NN指点。
