我感觉 这道题应该强调的是 这个发现导致了对细胞差异性更近一步的了解，而不是某种基因导致。
这个题后面直接用个 leading 不知道对不对。
个人想法 呵呵

我觉得这道题是出在and的问题上，and连词前面是BM这个人做了实验，and之后是it指代主语说明了实验的重要性。这完全是两句不同的话，之间不应该用and应该用;连接。  可以属于run-on sentence 尤其是在前面还有个while做状语修饰整个句子的情况下，LZ可以连起来多读几遍相信就可以感觉到有不对劲的地方。

另外从简洁性的角度上来说, D使用的是一个同位语加定语从句修饰就把问题说清楚了而C重新写了一个句子来说明这句话，所以D更简洁扼要。

还有一个非常好的法规就是代词指代一般只要是使用有错，就会用抽象词来指代，我给你一道例题。

这道题也是选D，this success是抽象词吧，this和that是指代。
