DescriptionQualifications: Minimal requirements for this position are an MSc. in Biology or related field; however, an outstanding candidate without an MSc may be considered. Candidate must be admissible to the MTSU Molecular Biosciences, Ph.D program, http://catalog.mtsu.edu/preview_program.php?catoid=9&poid=2287&returnto=376 Preferred qualifications are experience in some of the following areas: Genomics, Bioinformatics, genotyping,PCR and sequencing, and statistical analysis.
Description: The PhD student will utilize high throughput genomics and bioinformatics approaches to study gene networks/pathways that regulate different physiological traits, and develop genetic markers to enhance fish production traits with particular interest in muscle growth and quality. The work is funded by a USDA Grant. The position is a full-time, 1-year appointment, renewable depending on progress. The search will remain open until the position is filled.
