Some people prefer doing routine things because they are already familiar with them. On the contrary, others would rather take risks to do something in a new field. As far as I am concerned, I strongly support the latter. It is my value of life, and I would like to reason and present evidence in the following discussion.
On the one hand, exploring the unknown world is the force which pushes the development of human society. For example, in history, numerous precursors traveled all over the world. It is these brave people who discovered North America, which is the most prosperous continent nowadays, it is them who brought the invention of paper from Far East to Europe and then North American, and it is them spread the fire of culture all over the world. Therefore, their spirits of adventure and activities of taking risks greatly pushed our world foreword. As a young man, I absolutely worship these people, and will follow their footprints without any hesitation.
On the other hand, from a personal perspective, human beings are basically organisms, which are easy to feel boring when they assume the same task year after year. Therefore, modern management theory strongly contends that labour forces should change their jobs to achieve efficiency. Further more, this theory has been well applied in modern factories. For examples, the line managers in plants of Honda Ltd. rotate the blue collars in different assembly lines.
However, dissenters may proclaim that taking risks or doing various things may lead to some uncertain results. Obviously, they fail to realize that these uncertainties can never compare to the opportunities and advantages that they might bring to us.
To sum up, taking risks and doing different things is one of the most important factors that our civilization thrives, and it is also an effective method to make people do their tasks efficiently. Therefore, I strongly advocate that people try various jobs, do different things and take risks in some new fields. |
