OG verbal上的一题，关于for的讨论

题目 In recent years cattle breeders have increasingly used crossbreeding, in part that their steers should acquire certain characteristics and partly because crossbreeding is said to provide hybrid vigor.

这题我的疑问不是平行，是B选项的for，OG的答案解释认为for的出现是多余的，但是如何多余？
for不是也有表示原因的意思么，后面要跟句子还是短语？能加逗号和主语分开么？
这个麻烦大家赐教

for表示原因时是连词要引导从句后面不是个完整句不行

当然可以加逗号分开
